The audio options for MS basic are not availble
When I go into the mixer to try to choose any MS basic sounds, I cannot. The option is not available.
I tried making a new score, but any instruments I chose that don't have a MS sounds version yet just don't give any playback.

Try, in the tool bar, View>Playback set up>and activate Basic sounds

But, as you can see, that option is unavailble (I can't click it).

So when you select Basic sounds, no Activate button appears next to the OK button?
If not, I would go to Help>Revert to factory settings.

Basic sounds are stored here: C:\Program Files\MuseScore 4\sound. If they aren't there, you can download them and put them in the regular Soundfonts folder in The main MuseScore folder in Documents.
They should have been included with MuseScore when you downloaded it, originally.
Something seems to have gone wrong with your installation. Try uninstall / reinstall.
