Musescore Playback Speed
While I was working, Musescore 4 began to suddenly play everything at twice the marked tempo. Changing the audio output reverses this, for some reason. Changed the sample rate of the audio driver, remarked the tempo, restarted both Musescore and my PC, updated my audio drivers, and have the newest version of Musescore 4. This problem is not exclusive the score I was working on, either.

This often happens when the sample rate changes after MS was started. Sometimes the sample rate changes when you plugin your headphone or perhaps when you disconnected them.
Anyway the mismatch between what MS is using and what your audio is using is causing the "speed/pitch" change.
I believe that it would be sufficient enough stop/start MS to get the sample rate aligned. No need to update anything in the score.

I have this bug too but mine doesn't fix no matter how many times I restart MS
Indeed, do not connect or disconnect headphones while MU4 is running. There are many other settings that you might check, also. https://musescore.org/en/node/339915
This really seems to be a common problem. It suggests a bug in the software rather than misconfiguration. It would be interesting to try to determine the common factor among those who experience the problem. I suspect it might be related to non-motherboard audio.
