How to convert SATB open score to SATB closed score
I'm working on another arrangement with a choir part, and I realized partway through that using the SATB open score is unnecessary and that I can save space by using the SATB closed score. Is there a way to convert the work I already have written down from SATB open score format to SATB closed score format without having to start over? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

The "Implode" feature is for you: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/implode-and-explode#Implode
In a few words:
- select staves 1 & 2 / menu Tools / Implode
- select staves 3 & 4 / menu Tools / Implode
- Remove staves 2 & 4.

Thank you so much! It'll take a bit of fix-up afterwards, but that's just what I needed.

What do you mean by: "It'll take a bit of fix-up afterwards"
If you wanted to keep the existing score ( SATB open), simply create a copy: menu File / Save a copy, before changing to a SATB closed.

I guess that method would also collect the lyrics from both staves?

I anticipated that, which is why I said it would require a bit of fix-up afterwards. Along with a few other fix-ups like changing voices and other minor nitpicks. I got it all sorted, though. It's finished.

I still use How to merge/combine/implode two staves into one with two voices

Well, the Implode function doesn't delete lyrics. The only thing is that they are superimposed (they are assigned to verse 1). If we're talking about the Soprano/Alto eg, simply select a syllable from the Alto lyrics, Plus/ Same subtype/ Voice/Staff, and assign it to verse 2. And the space returns as expected. Of course, you can also toggle above and below the staff.
