Combine rests in multiple voices (when appropriate)
One of the more recent additions to Finale was the ability (by default) to combine rests in multiple voices into a single rest on the middle line, when the rests are the same in both voices. Is this possible in MuseScore without a lot of fussy editing?

There's a feature in the Staff/Part properties (accessed by right-clicking on the staff) called "Merge matching rests". But this will apply to the whole staff. Does this meet your expectations?

Is there a keyboard shortcut to restore an element to its default position? In Finale it was the clear key.

I don't suppose there is a way to specify that "Merge matching rests" be the default, is there? It is certainly better than having to manually edit them, but it would be nice if there were a way to have any new project default all the staves to it.

It is in the staff properties, so use a template that has this set

Is there a way to modify all the built in templates? Forcing it into templates seems like a nuisance.

None of them is built in, they are separate files which you could modify
