Tempo marking on all lines
Hi, I was surprised when I applied a tempo mark to this score that it appeared on all lines, as in the attached screen shot. I tried some other scores, and there the marking appeared above the top line only, as expected. The peculiarity of this score is that the alto "line" actually contains two lines, hence 'Alto' written between the two and the tempo marking appearing above the upper of the two.
Best,
Andrea

It seems that the source of this file (MusicXML format) is at the root of this problem. See, after correction: 1Tempo.mscz

Thanks, and ... what did you correct, and how? Is it doable from within MS? Did you go back to the original mxl file on CPDL that I had indicated in the metadata?
A.

Of course it's doable within MS. All you have to do is export the file in MusicXML format (this acts as a kind of file reset, at least of certain parameters). It's not a panacea, but it works quite often. And we reopen this file with MuseScore. The main drawback is that you have to redo the layout, among other things.

Thanks, and ... among other things, indeed ...I did that on my full file, attached, and I got back lots of things that were in the original (https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/a/a6/When_David_heard_Tomkins.mxl) and that I had removed (system breaks, page breaks, brackets for the 2 Alto voices) and the barline style was changed.
