REHEARSAL MARKINGS - ABOVE BRASS and STRING SECTIONS.
I can create a Rehearsal Mark above the top of the score - no trouble.
BUT when I try to put the same Rehearsal Mark above the Brass or String
Section it is still attached to the top staff and won't come down to lower
staffs. Is there a simple way to produce extra Rehearsal Marks? Thanks.

The rehersal mark is type of system text. When you create the parts, each part has it.
This is why the rehearsal marks are only in the top line of the score.
It is not possible to do this yourself, in the current version of MuseScore. But, it is working in some templates. see here in the handbook: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/rehearsal-marks#rehearsal-marks-oth…
In general, I recommend reading the handbook. It has lots of good information.

It's possible to do it yourself. As mentioned in the handbook, you can use "Staff text" (icon in the Text palette) which you edit for A, B, C, etc.
Or, type simple text (Ctrl + T) A,B,C etc. no matter.
Then in the Properties, at "Show more", change the text style to "Rehearsal Mark"(drop-down list). Place them in a palette for reuse, and they'll behave like staff text, but with the appearance of Rehearsal mark.

As far as I understand from the handbook, also the system text above more than the top staff is only supported in specific templates.

I guess for the advanced user, it would be possible to inspect the templates which supports this, and copy the relevant xml parts to your score to get the behavior. Possibly it is even documented somewhere how it works. But there is no support in the GUI for adding this to your score.

See (A new score created just now for three instrument sections (Woodwinds, Brass, Strings), and with Staff text "dressed" in Rehearsal Mark):

Ah, yes, staff text will work like you say (I misread your proposal as using system text). The drawback with this method is that in the parts, you will get double rehearsal marks for the instruments where you added the staff text. You will have to make them invisible there. There is also no support for the resequencing etc. But for many cases theses things can be handled.

"in the parts, you will get double rehearsal marks for the instruments where you added the staff text."
No, if you only use this staff text as rehearsal marks (including for the upper staff). It's a choice.
" There is also no support for the resequencing"
Yes, of course. It's up to the user to decide what suits him best.

"No, if you only use this staff text as rehearsal marks (including for the upper staff). It's a choice."
Indeed. But then you need to add rehearsal marks for all instruments/parts. In your example you only added them for Flute and Horn in F. You need to add them to all the other instruments as well.

Indeed. It's a real limitation (even a little boring!) I suppose on a score with so many instruments, it's not worth the effort.

Well then, to conclude. The most reasonable thing to do is:
Either add the "real" reheasal marks in the main score as usual, and staff text "dressed up" as rehearsal marks in the lower instruments sections (Brass, Strings) . The only drawback is that the A symbol (etc.) appears twice (under the real rehearsal mark) in the parts - image below. But it surely doesn't take long to hide them.
