it's an origional so I'd rather not, tonight I didn't even get to work on it and it crashed.

No problem for the score, but the bug occurs only on that specific score or every time you add or change instruments?

not as bad for crashing today but very very choppy play back. I have uninstalled, re installed. I have also changed the buffer settings and did all those tweaks. Sometimes it would miss playing a note this is while using vst3. Other issue is that there are duplicate files in the muse fx area. I've deleted the file known_audio_plugins.json several times, that however only helps forcing musescore to scan plugins. I'm using windows 11 and muscore4

I've not tried to I'm working on a composition and trying to get the playback to not sound glitchy and choppy. I think it might be with the VST's with musescore4 for the crashing part.

Can you try the MuseSounds? Are they glitchy? Which VST do you use? Are you using the 4.4.3 version?

just tried the musesounds, seem to be okay. I have paid for vst's and I want to use them without them being glitchy.

There are some bugs with VST, are you familiar with Github? You can report whatever bug in there.

Github is an hosting service where the code of a software can be worked by a community of devs or users. We, users of MS, can report bugs, crashes or whatever problem directly to the devs, or, if you know coding, help to develop improved version of MS.
I suggest you to sign in on Github (https://github.com/), follow the MS project, go to Issue page, New issue and describe the crashes you are experiencing atm and the playback issues. You should capture the screen (I use OBS studio) and write how to repro the bugs. Don't add two different bugs in the same issue, always one bug for issue. Ask me if you have doubts.
