Reduce space between staves
Hi
I am relatively new to musescore. I have reduced a score to one part, from 12 pages it is now 3 pages, 2 full pages but the third has only 5 bars.
I would like to reduce the space between staves so that the score fits on 2 pages however I don't know how to do that, can someone please help?
Many thanks
Pat

Go to Format/Page settings and reduce the staff space there.

Is there a way to save / customize the default page style ?

When you look at the 2 and 1/2 pages, does it look OK?
or does it look scrunched up? If you were to add the 5 bars
on the third page would it look too tight?
There are several things you could do.
1. Reduce the size of everything so that the last 5 bars will fit.
2. Highlight a line and press the "[" (bracket) - it will cause the bars
to reduce in size. Tap it several times and watch the bars gradually
skrink. You could go back in the work several systems and reduce a line
and the next bar and it will all reduce and come up to the line above.
If you do this on several lines you may be able to make enough
room for the 5 bars to fit on the first two pages.
3. Another approach is to make 3 pages by spreading the music
out a little. This way may work as the music will be more spread
out and easier to read.
I hope that you have solved the problem by now. Jeff

See: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/score-size-and-spacing#page-settings
and : https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/score-size-and-spacing#vertical-spa…
And if you don't get the expected result (each score has its own characteristics, and since you are "relatively new" to MuseScore), attach this score (.mscz) and we'll show you how to proceed.
