Unbalanced playback volume

• Dec 10, 2024 - 13:19

Hi!

I would love to if you could take a look at the playback volume, especially when it comes to choir voices, for upcoming versions. As for now the choir voices almost always needs maximum gain in the mixer inorder to not disappear behind whatever other instruments one has. But also, if going a capella I always need to bump up the gain and increase the volume on the computer to be able to hear it at the right volume level.

If you take a look at my screenshot you will see that the alto sax is decreased in gain to -6 and all the choir voices has a maximum gain at +12, and despite that it's far from a balanced sound.

Thank you for your awesome work! :)

This issue is known ever since Muse Choir exists, yet it still hasn't been fixed!
Anyway: you'd neet to report this to the Muse Sounds people ,not here on musescore.org

I shouldn’t have to do huge changes in the mixer just to be able to get a somewhat balanced sound in the score. And mp is mp, regardless of the instrument.

But yeah, it is probably better to lower the other instrument and to pan it. I just want the defaults to be better balanced that’s all

"And mp is mp, regardless of the instrument." Maybe. I tend to think that dynamics are more relative than they are absolute. If the score says the 1st violin section should play mp. Does each player play mp? Or does each player play softer than mp so that the overall volume is mp? May not important. But something to think about.
