Playback not available in 3.7
I cannot get audio output in 3.7 (This is been true since I installed 3.7 but I haven't addressed it until now as migration to a new Mac had caused 3.6 Play to not produce any output. I traced this to the IO no being set to any output device, but at no time did 3.6 have the problems described below.)
- All Play controls are greyed out.
- View -> Synthesizer is also greyed out.
- The Preferences IO tab shows no entries available in any dropdown. (see Screenshot ... 4.45.38.png_
Currently, playback works fine in 3.6. Nothing is greyed out. The Preferences IO tab shows Core Audio and my Mac Mini speakers. (see Screenshot ... 4.45.01.png)

Did you try a recent version of 3.7? Because exactly that issue had been fixed recently.

Audio got fixed 2 weeks ago (0929e39), notarization got done one week ago (a4d9423).
