double dots and one other matter
Hello Musescore People:
I'm using Musescore 4.4.4.24 for linux.
I cannot figure out how to add a double dot to a half note. I do not understand the documentation and when I try to follow the directions for it, it simply doesn't work.
Other issue: I'd like to add a bunch of icons to the top of Muescore, among them would include a "pause" symbol to pause music playing.
How do I do that. Cannot figure it out from what documentation I find... that seem to be primarily grumblings about not letting users add symbols.
I am befuddled.... However, that's not new for me. I specialized in befuddle... and bewildered.
Thanks,
Old

To the right of the voice icons in the tool bar is a Gear icon. Select it and scroll down to the quarter note with two dots. open the eyeball next to it. In your score, add a half note then select the double dotted note you just added. I know it looks a bit odd to add the half note then select another note to get the double dot.
Not sure what you mean by a pause symbol. There is a whole set of pause symbols in their own palette.

thanks so much for your reply bobjp. Unfortunately, I clicked on the gear icon and it did not have a quarter quarter note with two dots. I am using version 4.4.4.24 for linux. Perhaps my version does not have the feature. thanks, again.

The options are initially out of view in the Gear menu. Did you scroll down through the menu? In MS 4.4.4 my Gear menu shows single thru quadruple augmentation dot options.

HI scorster:
I've attached a screenshot that shows what's available for my version 4.4.4.24 linux after clicking on the gear.

Thanks!!!!!
For the "Pause" symbol, it's already there. When you click the triangle (Play button), it turns into two rectangles (Stop). You can also use the Space bar to toggle this.
