Latency on loop playback
Hi! I use MuseScore to write down exercises for my drum students and it's wonderful but when I want to play along with it and loop just 1 bar it seems that the repeating bar is always coming with a little latency, I put the metronome as well and I can still hear it, I checked with an external metronome and after a few bars both metronomes are getting far away, so that means that the loop is not accurate.
If I copy the same bar for like 50 times there's no latency because it just playing one bar after the other but if I want to loop 1 bar is quite annoying. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks for your reply! please have a look at this file I attached here, if I copy and paste this groove for like 50 times no problem at all but If I just want to loop a bar it's not accurate, I can also hear the kick drum wave sound on 1 not completely full (I hope you understand what I mean) 😊

I noticed that If I use the barline left (start) repeat sign and the barline right (end) repeat sign at least it's working for 1 loop but the second time the latency start again.

FWIW, I downloaded a metronome and played it alongside your track. As near as I can tell MuseScore 50 bpm is closer to 51 bpm.

Yeah.. thanks anyway but unfortunately it didn't fix the problem..
I think that the only thing is to copy and paste the bar multiple times 😩😩😩

My post wasn't a fix. It was an observation. If you set M 50 and a metronome to 50 and Musescore to to 50, MuseScore will slowly move ahead more and more.

I can confirm that. When the loop (I have set 2 bars) jumps forwards again, there is a slight delay. The playback of the first note after the jump is even slightly distorted.
This occurs with: OS: Linux Mint 22.1, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.6.0-250570306, revision: 28ab8ad
Everything is ok with MS 4.4.4

On my system, I make a 2 bar loop of this, there is a delay in the sound when the loop starts over. But no delay in the beat. Odd, I know. Verify it by changing the kickdrum to 1/8th notes for the last two beats and the first two. Play and tap along. The second 1/8th of the repeat is right on.

The problem is when I create more complicated loop or sight reading exercises..
I wrote that groove just to make it very obvious, it might be less obvious if I write down something else. 😩😩
