Score speeds up after removing Airpods
I have an Airpods. When I have a score open and I remove Airpods (the audio output switches back to Speakers), the playback speeds up, as well as the pitch.

Check the speakers bit rate, should not be 88.2 kHz but 44.1kHz or 48 kHZ

Sorry I assumed Mac because ot iPods...
In Windows it is in the sound device settings, System > Sound > Properties

Nowhere. It is something your operating system deals with
Changing audio devices while MuseScore is open always messes with playback in some way. Try to do that with MuseScore closed. MuseScore is not the only notation software in which this happens.

My Sony WH-100XM5 headset (bluetooth) cooperates quite nicely with my speakers attached to my HP TR2440w screen (AMD High Definition Audio device), I can switch the headset ion and off while MuseScore plays, and it switches seamlessly
