Two songs both with 6/8 time signature, for the count-in at play starts: 1-145 THE HIGHLAND DANCERS. is doing two beats, while 1-146 PASSING CLOUDS. is doing eight. Possible bugs?

No, by design. 6/8 is a compound meter and counts in dotted quarters, i.e. 2 per measure.

It's based on tempo. At slower tempos, the metronome ticks each "small" beat in compound meter. At faster tempos, it only does the "big" beats. The cutoff is 60 BPM (quarter note beats, so 90 dotted quarters).

Turning this into a feature request for user control over this behavior. I could imagine either a simple toggle to override the tempo=based default, or a way to set the tempo at which the changeover occurs.

It’s essential and wise to have this count-in beats change point, or otherwise it sounds very messy with fast song. And I thinks we need somehow somewhere let users know this feature of the program without referring manual, or user may think there is a bug, as I did.
Other thing to consider is when users play at _ _% of tempo speed, it’s still the same tempo in the score, but speed slows down, then they needs more accurate count-in beats to help. Sorry I made it complex.
