Is there an Android app forum for musescore, or is it ok to post here? re: Use my scores offline on Android.
As the title says....
I would like to use Musescore on Android for my own scores that I have created, nothing online.
However, users of the paid version of the Android app are saying that you can't access your own scores or that it is not possible to generate pdfs, even though this feature is advertised. Apparently we need a PRO version to do this, but I can't seem to find this PRO version.

There is no Pro version of the Android or iOS Apps (nor of the MuseScore program itself), there is a (free) player version and a (non-free) songbook version for Androud, and only a Songbook version for iOS.
What you need though to make available PDF downloads including parts, is a Pro account on MuseScore.com. Normal full score PDFs are also downloable from non-pro accounts.
In any case, in order to be able to download, currently the downloader is required to have and account (the free, non-pro is sufficient).

OK, I get it. the PRO version is not an Android app, but an online account subscription.
I take it the pdfs are made on the server and downloaded to the app, versus the app making the pdf itself.
I am not looking to go online at all, but an app that would produce a pdf directly from my Andoid tablet would be great. I use Musescore for my personal use and am not into sharing or finding files online.
Thanks for the reply.

The app doesn't download nor make PDFs. If you want PDFs, download them from MuseScore.com using Chrome or whatever browser you prefer.
Edit: you can export to PDF from the Songbook app.

I have been exporting PDFs from Musescore on my computer for years and transferring them to my tablet library program for gigs.
In my tablet, that is what I would like to do, as you said "export to PDF from the Songbook app".
However, I saw a review that said we can't.
I don't know how to link to only that review, so I'll quote it:
" Jonathan Bautista
You know, this app is pretty decent. I thought it was already the premium version but there is some PRO FEATURES not available to those who bought the paid version of this app. I am quite disappointed that I can't event export music via PDF without paying even more money. "
I thought this meant you had to have a PRO monthly subscription to access that feature.
Also, from the play store Songbook page:
"What's New
- PDF export for pro users and pro scores"
So I am still confused. Are you saying you can export to PDF from that app without a Muscore.com subscription?

Yes
Edit: oops, apparently wrong (I can export PDF, but I also do have a pro account)
MuseScore (the editing program) is not available for Android at all.
There is a free player app MuseScore that only allows for online playback.
Then there is the (one time fee) paying app MuseScore Songbook that allows you to open file from your device as well.
Questions and feature requests for the Android app are best posted in https://musescore.com/groups/musescore-android

As a side note, you can (for free) always export to PDF from the desktop MuseScore program and share that with your Android device as well.

That is what I have been doing and will continue to do.
But being able to transpose on the tablet and exporting that to PDF
when I am not at my computer would be a great feature for me.
Initially I thought the Songbook version of Musescore did this,
but some seem to be saying no it doesn't unless one goes to a monthly subscription.
Hi madoues,
While Jojo and Jeetee already answered in detail, allow me to sum things up:
* The paid MuseScore Songbook app allows you to open your mscz files, using third party apps like Dropbox, Google Drive, Mail, ... The Songbook app has no file browsing capabilities though.
* To export a PDF file from the Songbook app, you need to have an online MuseScore Pro membership which you can acquire at https://musescore.com/upgrade and once done, you need to log in with your MuseScore credentials into the Songbook app.
I hope this sheds a light on our offer. You can test the MuseScore Songbook app and if it doesn't satisfy you, you can always request a refund via the Google Play store within 48h of your purchase. See https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637?hl=en

Thanks, I understand now that the Songbook app was made more for online sharing of Musescore files.
My use would not be for online, so I guess that is partly why I am not finding the feature I would need.
I love and use Musescore almost daily and will continue using it for certain. It is a super program.

The Play App is only for online scores, the Songbook app is for online and local scores, but is lacking file browsing capabilities, so needs help by some file manager. There are a few for Android.
