"new line at any wanted position in a bar" and no automatic new bar line
to get an open part of an incomplete bar at the end of the line in an easier way.
workaround now:
split bar before a note (select it, Edit->Measure->Split measure before selected note)
enter a new line token,
mark the new bar line,
press "V"

Too late, but for the database of ideas...
Right click-> bar properties->change Actual value;
Use a Line break;
press "V".
I woudn't think of that as a "workaround". It's a series of separate things you are tyring to do - split a measure, break the system, hide the barline. Makes sense that this would be three steps. After most measure splits do not involve breaking systems, and most system breaks do not involve hiding barlines. So these things shouldn't be associated normally.

workaround in the sense that other programs like capella allow to
place the cursor at the wanted position, and simply enter "newline" :-)
