Musescore didn't save (even as a ".mscz,") even though I saved MULTIPLE times.
Okay, so I'm using a slightly outdated version of Musescore 2, but I'm only behind by a few updates. Mainly because I grew too lazy to click "Yes" on the update... (Version 2.0.3)
Anyway, I found a really beautiful piece by someone on this site, and decided to arrange it for concert band, while I was adding the instruments, the program crashed, 2 different times. I eventually got all the instruments I wanted added and got to work. And got to work I did, what I had arranged sounded so majestic and beautiful I nearly teared up. And now I'm almost in tears because I can't find the file. I already tried: https://musescore.org/en/node/52116 and couldn't find a thing. I did a system search of ".mscz" and ".mscz," files and found nothing (nothing recent). All that remains of said file is something called "scIJ9036.mscz" which is before I made any progress. So now I feel like I wasted 5 hours of my life (and then some while searching). Can anyone help me here? Did the file get corrupted? Or is my work just gone forever?

Another place to look, especially if on Windows:

Ciao Meduka メデューカ, check if there is a virtual disk (Windows? On Mac, something called "Home" folder?)
Almost definitely it's the virtual store. After the crash recovery, MuseScore tried to save your file to a folder where you don't have write permission. Rather than return an error that we could have warned you about, Microsoft decided it would be a good idea to instead stick the file in this "virtual store" that virtually no one in the world knows about and their own search facilities ignores by default. But once you find the virtual store, you will practically without doubt find your file safe and sound there.

Thanks a lot! I managed to recover the file! I'll be sure to clean it up and post it to the site as soon as I can! :D

Awesome! Took it took many reports of this and a lot of head scratching before we finally figured out what was going on and how to help people with this problem. Future versions of MuseScore should handle this better.
