Trouble posting to Support forum
I've been trying to post a bug to the support forum, but each time I submit, I get the error "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later." It appears I can post here just fine.
The post does contain markdown, but it previews fine...just won't submit.
Any advice?

Here's what I'm trying to post:
[Mac] Option key not recognized by keyboard shortcuts
(First-time submitter. Did not find this issue previously reported.)
I'm trying to use a keyboard shortcut to move a note from one voice to another using the instructions in the Handbook. Clicking the destination voice on the Note Input Toolbar works as expected, but the keyboard combination
cmd+option+[1-4]
generates a tuplet (expected behavior ofcmd+[1-4]
) rather than swapping the voice.I updated Preferences > Shortcuts to update these shortcuts to
cmd+option+[m|,|.|/|]
, and got similar results:cmd+option+m
added a rehearsal mark, andcmd+option+,
opened Preferences.I've confirmed using the Keyboard Viewer app that the hardware and OS are recognizing the Option key.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Confirm not in Note Entry mode
2. Select a notehead
3. Type
cmd+option+[1-4]
, and note that a tuplet is created instead of the note being movedScore example attached. First measure is the starting point; second measure is what I want to end up with. The focus is on the "AND" of beat 2 in the right hand: making the lower eighth-note B-natural into a sixteenth in voice 2.
Thanks for taking a look.

I've not heard of this problem before. The most baffling part is that you redefined the shortcut with your keyboard, then it still didn't recognize the shortcut. I'm not a Mac user so I don't know what to do about it. I don't know if it makes a difference, but are you using the same option button in both situations (such as the left button to define and the left button to execute the shortcut)?
Perhaps a Mac guru will be able to help further.
I was able to make a work-around by posting dummy text in the initial post (https://musescore.org/en/node/267048) and adding my full description in a comment.
Would still be interested if anyone has insights into what's going on so I don't have to use that workaround every time.
Thanks.

Thx for reporting the posting problem. Will try to reproduce and make a fix for it.

Not sure whether you were able to reproduce it before, but it seems to be an issue with links; I've been getting the same error, but when I just now cut the link I was trying to embed, it went through just fine. Then, when I edited the (working) post to put the link back in, I got kicked back to the main page of the entire site (not sure if that's standard) and when I clicked the link in the popup, I got a page saying "access denied". I can't see my post on the Support forum, but I'm not sure if there some lag for moderation/caching, so I didn't want to risk double-posting if you see it or think it will reappear.
Also, this user seems to have had the same issue, though I'm not sure they used the same workaround.
