TabelEdit .TEF file import?
Tabledit tablature programme is commonly used among 5-string banjo players. Any possibility that MuseScore could import its file format .tef in future ? I have several dozen .tef files that I would like to have in MuseScore format without having to re-do them from scratch.

Maybe you can export as ABC from Tabledit, and use the ABC importer plugin for MuseScore?

A quick look through the software shows it does have ABC export as well as MIDI export. Try that ABC importer plugin Jojo mentioned, or to give a comparative examination try the MIDI export and import that natively into Musescore with the aid of https://musescore.org/en/handbook/midi-import to see which gives the best result.
Tabledit supports MusicXML export. So save the TEF file to MusicXML and open then in MuseScore. It will work a lot better than ABC (which doesn't support tab information) or MIDI (which doesn't support semantical duration or tabs).

Sure? I didn't see it mentioned when I look the other day

He's right.
A double-check shows that the programmer(s) put in MusicXML export; they did it in File->Save As->Save As Type rather than File->Export where the options for ABC, MIDI, etc. are. This doesn't make much sense if you ask me, but it is there--definitely the way to go rather than MIDI export.
I tried exporting MusicXML format from TableEdit and importing into MuseScore. The files look and play OK. However, when I save the file as a .mscz file and open it again in MuseScore, I get this error message on some (but not all) of them.
Attached is a screen grab and one of the .mscz file concerned.

See https://musescore.org/en/node/54721 on how to fix that corruption.

Many thanks for that.

This was done in Windows 7 using Tabledit v2.77 and MuseScore v2.1.
