MuseScore 2.app crashes on startup.
MuseScore 2.app consistently crashes on startup, (Mac, OSX 10.10.5) if I start it from either the launchpad, the finder, or from the terminal. I have rebooted the computer. I have deleted, re-downloaded the app again and reinstalled. I have used the -W and -F arguments in the terminal. All to no avail. It starts, asks if I want to restore the old session, since it "quit unexpectedly", (The answer I give makes no difference), then it shows the "start center" giving a choice of files to open, then it crashes.
I CAN open the app if I open a file saved in the /Scores directory, such as a file with a .mscz extension. This is the only work around, but that's not very good.
Any suggestions?

Reset to factory settings usually clears crashes. The -F must be a capital F, the -w must be a lower case w.
When you successfully open MuseScore go to preferences and make sure Show Start Center is not checked and see if that helps.

That cured it. Huh.
Thanks!

From what you said, the start center seems to be causing your crash. I'm not a programmer so I don't know why. If you're willing to further test, see if going to the menu View->Start Center causes a crash. This may help a programmer figure out why it crashed.

That did cause it to crash. Now we know.
