Question on tremelo
Hi. I am copying material from handwritten parts into a MuseScore big band score template and I'm having trouble figuring out how to notate the following (esp bars 1 and 3): an entry to a double-dotted half note which is a full step tremelo for tenor sax (see attached image).
Is this standard notation? My read of the documentation is that the tremelo wants to be evenly divided between two like-valued notes.
Any assist appreciated!

Yes, I have done so. However I don't see how I can apply the tremelo tool between notes of two different durations (as in the supplied example).

Good! Realized your problem after replying. I tried to remove my comment, but you were very quick in replying :-) . What I would do is make tremolo between two dotted quarter notes, and then make the second dot invisible and change the note head to be hollow.

Excellent idea. I didn't think of that.
The hand written notation is incorrect. You cannot tremolo between two notes of different durations. There is no way to notate it and have proper playback. Any way I can think of would result in an extra rest being played. I would suggest the following would be the proper notation.
Trumpet tremolo.mscz
It won't play the B-natural correctly, but it will play the rhythms without an extra rest. The way it was written is shown in the mscz file with the extra rest made invisible.
