text in linked parts
Hi. I am working with score+linked parts for a big band ensemble and had a question about adding part-specific text instructions; specifically, mute changes in the trumpet section, or an indication for arco in the bass.
Is it possible to add text to an individual part (while it is still linked to the score) without that text appearing in all other parts in the score? (e.g., currently, if I add system text to the bass part to add "ARCO", it adds it to all the brass parts as well, which is obviously not desireable.)
Must I first Export the parts so that they are not linked to the score? If so does this suggest an optimum workflow for this kind of chart?

If you use SYSTEM Text, it means you want to have this text in all staves, it's the definition of SYSTEM.......use simple text and you only have this text on the part or on the stave you choose

That's why we're here. BTW, many of these texts can affect playback. Right click the staff text and chose staff text properties.
