Musescore 2.2 or 3.0
I’m a new user of musescore and like the score writing capabilities. Better playback would be very nice if upgraded in a new release.
Just wondering any new features in upcoming releases and rough idea when?
Thanks!

For the current state of 2.2 see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/developers-handbook/release-notes/wip…, note however that this may changes (mainly get extended), so far nothing about better playback (except for some bug fixes, regression is 2.1 vs. 2.0.3)
As to when: there is no schedule, 2.2 and 3.0 will get released if and when they are ready.
You will find some information here:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/developers-handbook/release-notes/wip…
https://musescore.org/en/developers-handbook/comparison-stable-beta-and…
Versions can coexist, so you can make comparisons.
Thanks for the info! I think if dynamics such as crescendos/decrescendos on sustained and drum rolls would playback that would be a huge improvement. Is it being developed?

Drum rolls should already playback; not sure how you are entering them. Trills and tremolo should both work, so should switching to a drumroll sound in a soundfont if provided.
Crescendo on sustained notes requires some significant changes to the playback architecture. It's on the radar for 3.0, but no guarantees. Playback remains very much secondary to notation in importance.

Thank you, that helps to know it might be in store for 3.0.
Trills and tremolos work, I was saying trills and tremolos with a crescendo/decrescendo. But that would possibly be part of 3.0 I assume.
