Midi File not exporting with selected instruments?
I exported a score to an MIDI file and while all the notes, tempo and whatnot are spot-on, the file does not play the correct instruments when I play it using Windows Media Player. If I import the file back into Musescore, everything is correct. I really need to export this file, so it's a pressing issue.

The fact that MuseScore can recognize the instruments upon re-import means they had been saved correct according to the GeneralMidi standard.
Not sure how you've configured your sound mapping for WindowsMediaPlayer so it knows how to play back this midi-file. But if your goal is to get an audio file, simply export to one of the audio formats directly from within MuseScore.

Then it must just be my Windows Media Player. I need a MIDI, but I can work around this. Thank you.

The simple question then would be why you need a MIDI in Windows Media Player?
