Anacrusis being added to measure count
Hey,
I've run into a problem on Musescore where right down the bottom where it shows you the stats of a bar, it will say that my starting bar, after the anacrusis, is bar two. Is there any way to stop it doing this? I've already checked in measure properties and the exclude from measure count box is checked so I'm just super confused about this.
Any help is amazing, thank you,
Will

Right click into the anacrusis, measure/bar properties, exclude from measure/bar count
Edit: ah, you did that already. Nobody, you can't prevent that, the internal measure count always starts with 1 and continues in steps of one, unlike the measure nubers shown above the systems

Hello,
Have already checked this and made sure it was on (I also said it above)
Thanks

to reiterate: the status bar shows the internal measure count, and also the Ctrl+F search works on that.
The measure numbers on top ot the systems is influenced by that "exclude from measure count", a measure count offset and also by section breaks
I'm a beginner and trying to transcribe a few songs. I completed one recently and realized that though it's in 4/4, that it has what they seem to call anacrusis/pickup/upbeat. I only realized at the repeat of the first verse when the drummer intervened and left me with a count of 3 before choir started again. Is there a way one could simply turn the first notes of the first bar into that and have the whole score's notes shifted accordingly without having to rewrite the whole song? I will try and upload the score if necessary. Thanks in advance!

Hi.
You don't have to rewrite the whole song.
Write the pickup bar, select/delete the rest of it and place it appropriately. :)
