a minor suggestion for making it simple or less confusing to download sound fonts
Sorry but I'm autistic so words look like mush after awhile for instructions so I was thinking maybe list the sound fonts with the musescore version and link to download for windows and apples, similiar to the layout you have for downloading the updated version... except you'd have listed
To download the default sound font used in musescore 2.2.1 :
for windows click on this link (link)
for mac click on this link (link)
To download the default sound font used in musescore 2.2.0
for windows click on this link (link)
for mac " "
you get the picture...rather than trying to search for where to download the link used in musescore 2.0 with the fluid r3 sound font (I think? :S) . Makes it easier for others who haven't the foggest idea about sound fonts, mixers, reverb, and all that jazz.

oh, and if one were to customize the synthesizer settings in 2.2.1 to make the sound not quite as bright, how does one do that? : S As an attempt to make the new version sound warmer or darker like the 2.o soundfont used (fluid r3 sound font I think?)

There is on 2.o.
the default soundfont in 2.2.1 has several sounds for piano, maybe one of those suits your needs better?
2.2(.0) and 2.2 1 use the same default soundfont. There is no difference in soundtonfs between the different platforms (and there never was)
