sound duration when clicking on note

In the note input settings I can enable "play notes when editing" and hear each note as I enter it into the score. I can set the duration of the sound to any duration I want.

However, when I click on a note already entered in the score I just hear a very brief sound - very brief. How do I change the duration of that sound (ideally I'd like it to be the same as the note input sound duration).
