Is this stem arrangement possible?
Hello! I have been transcribing BWV 1052 (Bach's Harpsicord Concerto in D Minor). It was all going well until I hit a stem snag. There is a large portion of the theme in the middle of the piece which utilizes stems stretched across voices. It looks like this:
In an attempt to stay as true as possible to Bach's original work, I tried replicating this, but I found no way to extend the stems:
Is there any possible way this can be done? Thanks!

Use therefore two voices, with invisible rests that are set to "beam middle."

Thank you for your input! I'm not sure why this didn't show up as early as your postage time, but thanks for your time!
F8, Inspector, Chord offset?

I'm afraid that didn't connect my stems. Thanks for the suggestion, though! Was there anything else you did besides chord offset?

Kuwitt suggested using voice 1 for notes with stems pointed up and voice 2 for notes pointed down. Apply the Middle beam option from the Beam properties palette to the rests AFTER you make the invisible by selecting them and pressing V. This will absolutely do what you want. The picture you have attached looks like a good start.

Ah, I see now. Thank you for the explanation! In between me posting the thread and this explanation, I got it to work once, but never again. It was because I had Voice 2 on notes pointed up and Voice 1 on notes pointed down. Thank you very much!

As a bonus, here is what that final phrase looks like. Thanks again!
