Customize input menu
When entering scores, the Basic and Advanced Palettes are fairly helpful, but under "Lines" menu, I often want to use the "Text Line" on my score. But I never want "VII" as the text, and so every time I go to use it, I have to go from "Click" on the menu item; to "Control Click" on the inserted line to get the pop-up menu; to "Click" on Line properties, to change the text, and then "Click" on the ... button to change color, font, etc.
Mostly, I enter the same information every time.
How can I change the default information included with the menu item?

Create a custom palette.
By creating a custom workspace and then customize the palette, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/palettes-and-workspaces#custom-worksp… and https://musescore.org/en/handbook/palettes-and-workspaces#custom-palett…

Thanks, all. That was just what I was looking for. My next hope would be for a smarter search facility for the handbook, since I did try and search the handbook, but could not guess the proper term to use.

Searching the PDF is easier. There is a link on the main handbook page for this.

Just reads it front to back, it won't be wasted time

I've done that a few times, and still search the handbook for things I don't often use or to verify discrepancies reported in the forums.
