Post the score here, and provide info. about your OS (operating system), and what version of MuseScore 3.
Your problem needs to be replicated before it can be fixed.

The first 2 measures are in eight note = 63. However, when the horn enters at m 3, the tempo changes to twice the speed.

It starts with 32.5 BPM and in measure 2 (!) jumps to 100 BPM, that 1st fermata having a strech of 1.2, the 2nd of 3 (both on the flute, all other fermatas are set to 1),
Now doing the math: 3*325. is almost exactly 100
There are more fermatas with a strech not being 1, resulting on more tempo changes, resetting them all and the speed is as expected

well, every since I put ms3 in, the program crashes once in a while. I'm starting to think I prefer the older version.

Well, OK, crashes are not nice, but we'd need to reproduce it somehow, so need as detailed a description as possible. "Crashes once in a while" isn't going to help there I'm affraid

And please do provide more info - the whole point of having a beta release is so that people like you can try it out and report problems so we can fix them before the real release. But we can't fix problems that we don't know know how to reproduce.
