Want pc to transcribe - tried mp3 to midi...
I want to try and transcribe an mp3 fingerstyle guitar solo, so I converted my mp3 to midi, using an online converting site; I next loaded the midi into Musescore: The result: The tune played and sounds good; the problem is the notes on the treble stave are about three or four octaves higher than would be expected, (some notes sit about twelve ledger lines above the stave, for example!) Clearly the notation is too ungainly to be practical.
I am hoping someone may know what I can do to decipher the notes in an accurate way? If this can be made to work, it would be a great way for a 'tin ear' like me to transcribe music! Any ideas?

Is there no way by moving the clef signs, the Middle C, further down the stave? I'm not sure how to do this. Have you tried any experiments with the file I sent you?
Were you able to determine any of the melody notes, please? The tune seems to play coherently on Musescore. If I could only identify the melody note it would be a help.
Might there be a better result, if I could find a way to convert the mp3 to Musicxml? Not sure how to achieve this. All I know is that Anthemscore, a paid for software, can translate to Musicxml and make a decent job of transcribing! I am trying to achieve the same job for free.

You say the midi sounds good?
Just listen to it without opening it in MuseScore...
especially from 2:00 to 2:18. There's lots of errant noise which wreaks havoc on musical notation.
You might be better off searching for a Guitar Pro tab of a fingerstyle version of the song.

Compared to midi files, those files can be opened in MuseScore with much better results .
