Double post.
See the Pallettes> Articulations (I believe it is called).
Then either "drag and drop" to the note you want it on, making sure that the note changes colour so you know it is selected, or, (my preferred manner), select the note and double click on the articulation.

Create shortcuts for accents (and other things). I have # for sharp, ' for flat (' is next to # on my keyboard). ; for double-sharp (the next key along) and = for natural (L is already taken and = stays in my memory). I guess I don't bother with double-flats much (One of the pieces in Cabaret is the last one I recall seeing them in and I think there might have been a triple-flat in there somewhere, too*, but hardly common enough to warrant a shortcut).
*I found the triple flat - actually in "It's the "Hard Knock Life" from Annie.

I think you're mixing accents with accidents...

I think underquark probably learned a thing or two since then, but that's just a guess. 😉
