Question about note duration!
Hi I'm new to Musescore and I'm wondering how do you change a base note duration in one measure for exemple my time signature is 3/4 but so I should have the first note is dotted half note and the second is another half note but I need these two half notes in one single measure. you can see from my image.
Thank you.

For some reason it does not always work you can see here in my last measure and last note which is the quarter note it should be above the two half note but its not letting me do it.

Post the score and someone might look at it for you. Looking at an image doesn't give any information about what voices each note is in, what the bar duration is etc. Also, it you can draw and scan how you want that bar to look it might be helpful.

Yes sorry about that.
So I want it to look like this image and I have attached the file of the sheet im working on.
The time signature is 3/4 but I had to change it to 5/4 to make it work.

You have to use 3 different voices to get that:
Voice number 1 to the superior "melody".
Voice number 2 to the chords.
Voice number 3 to the bass (dotted half note).
You can delete the silent symbol of voice 2, if you want. But, I think it is not necessary.

You're welcome!!!
BTW: Up to me, one of the best version of this Satie masterpiece, was made by Perry Botkin Jr. in his 1977 album "Ports". I tried to transcribe that version, with MuseScore (version 2.3.2, last revision I did) , closer as I could to the original. I always use the "GeneralUser GS MuseScore v1.442.sf2" soundfont file (my taste, only reason), so... it could sound a little bit different in your system. The file is attached.
