quaver grouping 3 3 2
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.5.5992, revision: 58dd23d
Hi (and sorry for asking two questions in the same day!)
I am writing a piece in 4/4 but sometimes I want the 8 quavers to be in a 3 +3 +2 group. How do I get the beam to go across the 2nd set of 3 please. I cheated with the first group of 3 by creating a group of 4 and then splitting off the 4th quaver. The beaming dialogue isn't working on this 2nd group.

Hi Mike and thanks again
I have already tried that, hence me asking the question. I have assumed that as 4/4 wouldn't normally be beamed 3+3 +2 there must be a different way of achieving this.

I also tried telling the bar properties to be in 8/8 time to see if that would help but it wouldn't stay in 8/8 so I didn't have any joy in that direction either

You are not doing it correctly. Read the entire page for the link I posted earlier.

The link explains how to change the beaming in the time signature. If you're not familiar with creating a new time signature you may need to read some before it. The basics of setting the beaming is that if you click a note beamed to the note before it breaks the beam. If you click a note not beamed to the note before it becomes beamed. You can set the exact beaming pattern in your picture.

Thanks. Think I've got it now.
