Switch to the tab, if I try to open a file that's already open in MuseScore
I have a habit of leaving quite a few files open in MuseScore, so I can pick a couple to practise again that I've played recently. If I try to open a file that's already open, MuseScore currently does nothing, other than return to the main window - it doesn't make that tab visible, or switch to it. It would be better if it did.
It can get a bit awkward to find a file that's already open, if there are a lot of them (more tabs than can fit on the screen horizontally) and I don't always remember if a file I used recently is still open, so I quite often try to open one from the File menu, which is already open. What I'd like to happen is for MuseScore to then switch to and show me that file, and if necessary, scroll the list of files on the tab bar, so it's visible.
Comments
Several times I have already tripped over this trying to open the file that was already open and not seeing it selected. So it would be nice to have this improvement implemented.
I agree, it's a nuisance.

Thanks, Peter. Do we have to wait for it to be accepted into a release, before we can try it?
I haven't installed 3.x, yet (I'm still using 2.3.2), because it didn't seem to do anything new that I was particularly interested in, but that would be a reason for me to do it.
Yeah, we would have to wait until it gets into a release first. Hopefully that doesn’t take too too long!
Once the fix is merged, there will be a nightly created for windows and Mac that could be used for testing, but I believe Linux requires a release build.
Okay. Thanks, Peter & Mike.
