Add 0.5 Augmentation & Diminution
Hey, MuseScore Team! I have been using MuseScore 3.1 Beta for a while now, and I am enjoying it so far. I especially appreciated the Double and Half Duration feature you guys added for this version. However, I think I could add to these features to make better. I would like to have a 0.5x Double and Half Duration feature or to make it clearer to you, a bar that shows how much augmentation or diminution the melody/bass should have. (like the aforementioned 0.5x, along with 3x, 4x, etc.)
How this works is that a half note will turn to a dotted quarter note, a dotted eighth note turn to a regular eighth note, eighth note triplets turn to regular eighth notes, etc. For example, let's say I am composing a piece in 6/8 and I want to the melody from another piece, but the problem is that it is in 4/4. Now with this feature I suggested, I would go to Edit and hover to the Paste Double Duration, then it will appear a menu on how much augmentation I want.
I hope that this addition will be added to the final 3.1 release. It would be a huge help to me as I am making a mashup of the other movements as the grand finale of my orchestral suite. Anyways, thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
R.M Rizal

There is an undocumented feature because the designer isn't sure how exactly it should work.
Define a shortcut for paste special (in Edit->Preferences->Shortcuts)
Copy your notes
using 1/4 note = 1, press a duration on the note entry toolbar (including dots) that will become a multiplier for the duration.
press your shortcut
If you want everything multiplied by 1.5, press 1/4 + . then the shortcut since the 1/4 note means x 1 and dot means X .5, it adds them together 1 + .5 = 1.5.
This currently works in both betas but there is no promise it will survive future releases.

Ah, thank you, Mike! I did not know that! I hope this feature will still be available in the final release.

It's more work to remove than to leave it alone :-), so I have no plans to mess with it for now. Eventually we could use a better UI indeed, and figure out a way to handle scaling involving triplets, but one way or another I don't see this going away, just hopefully getting better.

In the initial concept discussion there were ideas that paste special could be expanded for things such as tone row inversions and so forth. If at some point Paste Special were altered to display a dialog box with options, this feature may or may not be included in those options. Of course adding the current results is always an option.

Already possible, no need to wait for MuseScore 3.1, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input#keyboard-shortcuts :

That's for individual notes, not a sequence of notes.

True, for a series of notes see mike320's reply
