When I try to open it, it will ask "The previous session quit unexpectedly restore session? " And I can't escape it. I click anything: yes/no/x out, it will load musescore, then the pinwheel will pop up next to the cursor, then it will close out entirely. It never fails, it won't quit.

What operating system, if windows, 32 or 64bit? Try a factory reset.

So I'm not sure, I have an HP laptop, and how does one do the factory reset?
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/revert-factory-settings#Via-command…
I guess it is Windows 10 64bit and a 64bit version of MuseScore. If the factory reset dosn't help you could try the 32bit version of MuseScore

Yeah I'm having the same issue and that didn't work. What should I do?
You tried both the factory reset 8and* the 32-bit version? What CPU does your computer have, and which specific version of Windows?

I agree; it happens to me, too (version 3.1 as well ... I think)
I use Windows 10 (64-bit)
Upgrade to 3.2.3. Report if is still crashes. We're not going to investigate crashes for outdated versions
Esp. with nothing to go on, no sample score and no clear steps to reproduce, nor feedback whether reverting to factory helped nor exact version of MuseScore and the Operating system
