Measures/bars per system/line
I often open a score and find some pages with 3 systems , 4 systems and even 1 system per page. And sometimes find different numbers of measures per system or line. How to correct this, please?

MuseScore tries to fir as many staves, systems or measures onto a page as possible with the current size settings. You can fit mopre by decreasing those settings or less by either increasing them or adding system- or page breaks

Thanks Jo-jo. How/where do I specify how many measures per line or system?

Dependes on whether you want to increase or decrease the number.
To increase you need less content in the measures or wider paper or narrower page borders, or less stretch or a smaller space setting. To decrease you need the opposite of the above or use system breaks.

Once again, Jojo, many thanks for yours. All sweet now.
If you have 3, 4 and 1 measure on systems in the same song, you probably set add/remove system breaks to 4. This setting simply inserts a system break every 4 measures. It's up to the user to either change the settings so more measures can fit on a system or manually change where system breaks are so they don't end up with only one measure on a system because it wouldn't fit on the one above. The reason there is only 1 is that it would have been the 4th measure on the system above and has a system break in that measure so the next measure is forced onto the next system.

Many thanks, Mike All is clearer now. I should study the Handbook more and pay more attention to Marc's school..

Thanks again Mike. Trouble was my score displayed 2 systems per page but included one page in the middle with I measure only, rest of page blank. Anyway, I played with system and page breaks and now A O K .

So a page break was the culprit.
