Creating score/tab hybrid for newbs
This my third day struggling with musescore.
Could someone please tell me (before i have a mental breakdown) if it is possible to load a score and have the tablature below. I've tried different methods but the tab is always blank. A musescore user said in a musescore YouTube video there was an option called GUITAR:TAB i should choose. This option is not there in the drop down menu, i doubt it would be put anywhere else. Also, the default instrument is piano, i've been reading all afternoon and found a fix, but rather than changing the entire score i have to do it bar by bar. I'm determined, but this isn't very practical at all.
Perhaps musescore is not capable of this feature and i've been misinformed.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Open the instruments dialog (press i) click the word "staff 1" under the instrument you want to add a tablature to. Click "Add linked staff" which only becomes active when you click a staff. To the right of where is says "staff 2" (which just appeared) change standard to the appropriate Tab type. Read https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tablature for more info on tablatures.
One thing to keep in mind is that the instrument must have strings defined in staff/part properties (right click a staff select staff/part properties) for tablature to ever display anything. You sample is a default treble clef. Open staff/part properties and change it to an instrument in the Strings-Plucked section (like gutar or ukulele). It doesn't matter if you fix the instrument definition before or after you add the tablature staff. However, both must be done to have the tablature automatically populate.

This score is the result of a PDF file conversion. As can may happen in this kind of operation, the result is a real waste, in terms of voices, various unexpected clefs, rhythms (bad tuplets).
Frankly, and especially if you are a beginner, the best advice is to tell you to give up the game - for myself, who knows a little about the program, I would say to myself to give up, really: we're wasting too much time trying to clean up this kind of score.
Otherwise, you will struggle even harder every day at the risk of getting discouraged.
Start MuseScore with a PDF conversion? Really not a good idea. Or a simple file, with a simple melody. But not in complex scores. So, try to learn how MuseScore works in a different way: enter a simple score, 1 or 2 voices (with help if necessary: handbook, videos, forum), and already you will make a lot more of progress.

So, it's a corrupt file after all? All the free tab's for it have no note values and even if they did, i'd have no idea how to put a tab in musescore anyway.
On the earlier version of musescore i began writing out the tab for the piece Schnee in Istanbul (a piece i've been playing years and just wanted a score/tab hybrid), but things quickly got far too complex, so i sacked it. I returned to it after a time, but it was just too complicated to operate. I can write my own pieces on musescore but no tab beneath, and as i said it was too complex so i gave up for good. I was hoping musescore 3 would be more user friendly, it might be down to the break from it but it appears to have got worse.
Thanks for the heads up, i'd have eventually been committed to a mental hospital sticking at this.
Surely there's something you're aware of that's dedicated to guitar that can tabulate the score automatically? I wonder what method classclef use? I'm not really asking/hoping for that much, am i?
Thanks again.

Please don't give up...
Open MuseScore
Create a new score using the Start Center (if not visible press F4)
Add info. (Title, Subtitle, etc.). Press 'Next'
Choose Solo -> Guitar + Tablature. Press 'Next'
Keep going until you can press 'Finish'
You will now have a "linked" guitar treble and TAB staff.
Start entering notes on the treble clef and they will "automatically" appear on the TAB staff (or vive versa).
How simple is that?

Thank you very much for replying.
I clicked edit/instruments, added the score then classical guitar. Nothing happens when i right click on these unless it's double click, then it just adds the clicked item to the overall score. There is no staff 1 in the instruments dialog. I click a staff, i don't get the option to click add linked staff. Neither did staff 2 appear. Thanks again for trying to help.

Look at the score and nothing else, right click the staff and select Staff/parts properties so you can change the instrument in your score. You can then select an appropriate instrument. Don't do things I didn't tell you to. If I didn't tell you to open another dialog first, then opening another dialog will confuse you.
Cadiz1 made many good points about understanding how MuseScore works being important before you attempt to import a score that will probably be corrupted like the one you attached.

Sorry, it would appear i'm not sufficiently computer savvy to operate musescore, i did look around and got another version of the score, but i give up. You're used to navigation on musescore, but it's all a big riddle to me in actuality.
I'll find a better, more user friendly effort than musescore elsewhere.

There is plenty of help available on using MuseScore, so I definitely recommend taking advantage of it for instance, the free online Handbook. You don't necessarily need previous computer experience, you just need to be willing to learn. I am afraid you will find that any other program sufficiently powerful to do what you want will come with an even bigger learning curve,
