Reducing the number of pages
Hello everyone
I wrote out a part in Musescore and it came out to 2 pages plus 2 measures. I really want to reduce it to 2 pages so there is no page turn. How do I do this? The documentation says use the { and } keys but they are not helping. They make tiny changes to a selected measure but never enough to pull a measure up a line. I can't find anything else in the documentation about this kind of basic formatting.

Two things about {
First, if the previous system ends with a system or page break, this will never help
Second, you need to select all of the measures in the last system or two plus the extra measures depending on how long they are when you use { because the measures on the previous lines need to shrink enough to permit these extra measures. I use the guide of one previous system for each measure you need to move up, though more or fewer systems may be what's needed to make it work depending upon the widths of various measures involved.
It's possible the notes are too close together already for "{" to have any effect - we'd need you to attach your score to advise better. Probably some combination of the settings in Format / Page Settings and Format / Style / Measure will do the trick.
Thanks for the replies. I finally figured it out.
I wrote the part out using the default staff that Musescore gives you and it has hard line breaks at the end of each line. I never realized these were there.
I deleted every hard line break and now I can finally shrink up the lines.

For the record, that score is there to have fun with when just starting out, but for creating real scores, you should generally creatw a new one, File / New, and choose an appropriate template or set of instruments.
