How do I remove these extra spaces without messing up the entire rythem of the score?
I'm fairly new to musescore and sheet music. For some reason, the Harp and Piano lines have an extra whole note space, while all of the other instruments don't. how do I remove this extra space(see image)?

You mean the 2 half rests, instead of a whole (measure) rest? Simple: select the measure and press Del

that fixed half of the problem, but I want to get rid of that space completely without ruining the sync.
Its probably a really simple solution but I cant figure it out. Maybe you can try?

If you go to Page View which notes are not sync?
Doubt:
Select a measure->Del to delete the content;
Select a measure->Ctrl+Del to delete the measure.

It seems like splitting the measure in half (a half note length measure) would fix the problem, that or just moving the rest of the score half a note back.

You need to cut and paste. You cannot eliminate a measure in on some of the staves.
