I don't really understand what you are asking, but the Handbook has a section on grace notes that should help: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/grace-notes

Thx for your response!
I can maybe explain it like this: Sometimes you would like another player (in brass: a euph player is not present so you would like 1 Trombone to play the part normally done by the euph player) to play as opposed to rest. In order to do that you need to provide the trombone player with (what I would call) grace notes below or above the rest sign. Pdf example attached.
It may well be a language problem (English not my first language) - in which case: what would you call the "grace notes" I have indicated below the rest sign in English?

OK, so you want cues or voices, not grace notes.
In either case use voices (1 and 2) and, in the case of coues, make the notes /actually the chords) of one of those voices small
