Twice, I tried to assign a shortcut to a plugin (in this case, the articulation plugin, which was already loaded and checked). Twice I was unable to exit the Plugin Manager dialog, and had to force-quit the app, losing about a half-hour's work ( I don't see "mscz," files - are they kept on the Mac?)
Comments
I don't know if not using shortcuts should be considered a workaround, and an app crash is molto serioso.
I don't see "mscz," files - are they kept on the Mac? Yes, of course they are. But due to starting with a dot they are hidden. No idea how to tell Mac's file finder to show those on the command line it is 'ls -a'
I could not reproduce this on Mac, could you please describe the specific steps to reproduce the issue?
@Anatoly-os suggested that this might be a result of the "Define shortcut" dialog window being under the "Plugin Manager" window as, for some reason, modal dialogs may end up being not shown above all windows on Mac after switching between windows. Couldn't this be the reason of the issue you observed?

I found the dot mscz files, thanks.

No, it couldn't be, because the modal shortcut window came up, and seemed to have worked successfully. I did nothing special, merely called the plugin manager, clicked on a plugin already there, got and used the shortcut window, confirmed it, and there I was, neither cancel, OK, or red-dot window close worked.

(note Catalina). Was trying to assign a shortcut (Option-Command T) to my articulate plugin, which was checked (needed to because every "reload plugins" loses all shortcuts). I called the plugin manager, clicked "articulate", which was checked, clicked "add shortcut", typed Opt-Cmd T (as i have many times before), OK (internal dialog dismisses), and then stuck. No way to exit Plugin Manager, have to kill app.

HOWEVER, Anatoly was right! The little dialog then GOT HIDDEN behind the big one, and when I moved the big one, the little one was visible, and worked. However, this is not useful enough; no one but Anatoly will be able to guess this, and the app has effectively crashed if you don't know this secret.
