Where to start!
Hi! I just got a recording microphone and this app for Christmas. When you were new with this program, what is something you wish you would have known as you got started? I’m brand new with this program, and am not sure how to install the microphone. I have a Roland keyboard that is about 27 years old. It was my dads keyboard and ever since he passed away, I wanted to play it but I didn’t have access to it at that time. So, if anyone has some advice for me, even if you think it’s very basic, I’d love to hear it!
What all can this app do? Can it record and print songs that I play?
I’m super excited!
Thank you! Wendya2j

You can't connect a microphone to MuseScore

Poor Wendy! This makes me sad.
It isn't possible to connect a microphone with MuseScore to record scores with a microphone, you only can record audio files with an digital audio workstation, but you can't use these records with MuseScore.
But you can connect your midi keyboard with MuseScore to create scores, see: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input#midi-keyboard and https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input-modes
Do you play any (other) musical instrument?
Are you familiar with reading musical notation?
Think of MuseScore as being like a word processor for music notation. Just like you wouldn't normally try to enter a novel into Word by speaking into a microphone, you also don't enter music into MuseScore that way. You type your story one word at a time, and you enter your song one note at a time.
