Project
- Open the attached example file in Musescore3
- Note on page three, at D1, there are two texts "Ens."
- Delete one of them (they both then disappear).
- Add staff text to the multimeasure rest at D1
- Move the text (in the example case, it was moved from below to above the rest)
- Save, close and re-open
Note that this bug was reported back in mid-2017. However, it was marked as "fixed" when it appeared to not happen in Musescore2. Also, the report said that it only affected System Text. It appears that it never was actually fixed, and affects Staff Text as well.

Which previous issue are you referring to?
Hi Scott!
Which version are you on, specifically (Help / About)? I think this might be connected to a bug I fixed for MuseScore that wasn't incorporated in MuseScore 3 until recently. I can reproduce the problem in 3.3 but not 3.4 beta, but my fix was included in 3.3, so I'm a little confused.

the previous issue is number 231956
In reply to Hi Scott! Which version are… by Marc Sabatella
Hi Marc.... sorry, my replies are becoming new posts. Anyhow, I'm using 3.3.4. I did a big band chart, and when generated the individual parts, all of the multi-measure rests in the resulting scores had this behavior. Oh - one other clarification -- the text that was put there by the generator, I can move it without problems. But if I add text to a multi-measure rest myself (and then move it), the error occurs.
So #231956: Duplication of system text in a score with parts and invisible staff leads to crash
In reply to So #231956: Duplication of… by Jojo-Schmitz
Yes, and sorry if it's a different bug. It just seemed that since both issues were duplication of text in the presence of multi-measure rests, they could be related.
I think that the workaround would be to replace the multi-measure rest with individual measures with rests, then add the text, then collapse back to multi-measure. So it's minor. Thanks for such quick feedback.
Following the instructions with the test file using version 3.4.2, I cannot reproduce. I only see one "Ens" staff text when I first open it.
I think that helps confirm our guess that this was fixed for 3.4, even if it wasn't actually #231956: Duplication of system text in a score with parts and invisible staff leads to crash. There were other possibly relevant fixed. I'm closing this but feel free to reopen with new steps to reproduce using 3.5 alpha.
