MacOS Crashing Seemingly Randomly
I have had a couple of examples, but there does not appear to be any consistency to it. I was working on this chart when it crashed (like an idiot I had not saved it in a while).
The attachment is the file that was saved for restoration on reopen (and has a lot of my work!) when Musescore crashed. However, Musescore said it cannot open this recovery file (if someone could resolve this I would be appreciative!). I don't know if that helps debug the crash.
Musescore 3.4.1.25011 REV OS: macOS 10.15, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.4.1.25011, revision: 20414b2
Thanks!

That file is 0 bytes in size, so surely nothing to open

Guess no recovery from that crash then. Ugh.
If it crashes again, does getting the Mac crash report help?

Maybe, maybe not, what would help more would be exact steps to reproduce

So it crashed on me again this morning. Since I was saving more frequently, I could repeat the steps before the crash verbatim - no crash. Each time it crashes, I will try to go back and repeat the steps, but so far it does not seem triggered by a consistent event.

From:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/file-formats#msczcomma
"The backup copy contains the previously saved version of the MuseScore file and can be important if your normal copy becomes corrupted, or for looking at an older version of the score."
Have you checked there (because your "scE68629.mscz" is the auto saved file)?

I'll keep that in mind for next time. I have since reopened the file, worked with it, saved and closed Musescore so the current . file won't have what came before my original crash.

I have still been getting random crashes in MacOS, but this file crashes Musescore 100% of the time on save (make one change, save, crash) and actually crashes Musescore even if it is just sitting there open with no activity (and no changes) for 5-10 minutes.
I am going to see if I can recover this file from my backups, but there is a lot of work in this one :-(. None of the saved backups in Library -> Application Support -> Musescore -> Musescore 3 work either (most are empty) and Musescore can't open the .temp file that is in the directory where the score is.

I should note that there is another file (see attached) in the same directory with a .mscz.temp extension. Musescore cannot open that one either.

Does it make a difference if you re-generate the Parts at the end?

Not sure what you did, but that fixed the problem! Thank you!
Whoever tracks crash reports still might want to look at the old file to see how it got there.
