Help! No Sound on any soundfonts (custom and default)
Musescore was working perfectly until recently. I used Polyphone to make a soundfont that included a single instrument in order to test out the custom soundfont features and it worked perfectly. I was able to use the instrument alongside the default ones. When I decided to make a soundfont with 5 instruments a few days later, I followed the same steps, but for some reason no sound comes from musescore at all anymore. I tried the I/O Reset, I reset my laptop (Macbook Air if it's relevant), re logged musescore, checked the mixer and even tried the metronome. I honestly have no idea why everything stopped working all of a sudden.

For some Mac users a PRAM (Parameter Random Access Memory)/NVRAM (NV for non-volatile) reset may solve it

So I came back the next day and the problem resurfaced. Now even the NVRAM Reset isn't working!

Are the playback buttons grayed out?
What does the synthesizer window show? https://musescore.org/en/handbook/soundfonts-and-sfz-files#synthesizer
Have you tried shutdown then re-starting your computer?

The buttons aren't grayed out, the synthesizer looks normal, and I have reset multiple times...

I've found out the new issue... apparently the sound from musescore isn't playing anymore from headphones specifically. This is odd because it did work when I first used musescore and even did the day I did the NVRAM Reset. Whats even more odd is that I can listen to a video on my laptop through my headphones yet musescore will still play from the speakers.... I've never known it was even possible for sound to be distributed like this, but at least the problem was fixed!

You can go to Edit / Preferences / I/O to tell MuseScore which output device to use. or just restart MsueScore after connecting the one you want and selecting it to be the default in your OS.
