I meant bar lines not bracket

. I can see the double bar line in the menu. How do I get it to stay at measure 1?

The editing options are in Inspector (F8).

For measure 1, if you mean the two thick lines just before the 4/4 time signature, look for the percussion clef in the 'Clefs' palette.
