Start playback not at beginning
I am a long-time Finale user switching to MuseScore. Out of habit, I keep looking for Finale ways of doing things. I am writing an Early Music score, and I have constructed the first bar to contain early clefs and stemless noteheads which indicate the range of the parts. How do I set the default playback to always start at bar two, and NOT play the non-music bar? The reason this program excites me is that it has a lot of Early Music features. Surely this is an easy fix, but I cannot find it.
Thank you.

stemless noteheads which indicate the range of the parts why not an ambitus?
How do I set the default playback to always start at bar two no such option in MuseScore. You can make those non-music notes silent, but that's about it
I'd suggest instead finding a different way of indicating that preamble. Like, use the built-in ambitus feature (see Lines palette) to show the range rather than faking it with stemless noteheads. Or, construct that measure elsewhere then use the image capture tool (camera icon on toolbar) to copy an image of it then paste that in a horizontal frame in front of the first measure.
If for some reason you can't use the existing ambitus feature to show the range, you can abuse a(n invisible) volta for this purpose. Place it over the first measure and set its repeatlist to a number above the possible repeats for that measure (for example 99).
The volta will then never match the current playback count and be skipped.

Now, that is just evil :-) - but I'll have to remember it should I ever need it ...

Ooh, wish I'd thought of that trick!
