MIDIs cannot be read
For some reason MuseScore will glitch and close out when I load specific MIDIs. There isn't anything wrong with the MIDIs, I loaded them into other programmes and they worked then, but Muse cant seem to read them. Muse doesn't show any error code so what I am telling you is all the info I can tell. I have version 1 rev. 3996 which I downloaded today. Any suggestions?
I tried editing the page size, assuming it was a problem with trying to fit too many staves on one page, that didn't work. I changed the smallest notes size from hemidemisemiquaver, to quarterhemidemisemiquaver, to crotchet, all of them, that didn't work. I tried the two together, that didn't work. I tried loading the MIDI into a different programme and saving as a different file format (.xml, then .kar), that didn't work properly *. I tried loading the MIDI into a different programme and saving as a MIDI file format, that didn't work properly *.
* They didn't work properly in that the files loaded, but they were a lower quality, simplified version. I can't use that for what I'm doing.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem. I was able to get some misbehaving MIDI files (that would cause MS to close on loading) to load when I changed the "Shortest note on import" setting to 1/16.
I filed a bug report on 2/4/2011 but it received no response, so I don't know how it was interpreted.

Now I'm certain that I am not alone on this problem.
I wonder if it's a computer specific problem, like it doesn't have enough RAM or something absurd, or if it's an MS problem, as in if everyone were to try to load the same MIDI file then everyone will get a crash.
I think it is a bit difficult to fix this bug, though, as there is no information about the bug other than MS spontaneously crashing.

Am I allowed to redistribute the MIDI even though I didn't create it but it can be found free online?
I just want to be sure so I don't get banned or something like that.
